definition evidently involves sustained driving at high speed. When I hit a
curb and blew out one of my PT Cruiser's tires, I drove around on the
"donut" or convenience spare tire. I considered it to be quite usable, by
MY definition -- I drove home on it, and then to the tire store the next
morning, at speeds less than 45 MPH as cautioned on the tire's sidewall. I
imagine the DeLorean's convenience spare would also be quite usable,
provided the rubber is reasonably fresh and it is properly inflated -- two
things I would check before a long trip, even though I rarely make long
journeys through the middle of nowhere in the middle of the night.
