[DML] Automatic transmission - how to remove computer

Trying to replace the automatic transmission computer (entire assembly) to fix my shifting issue.  Got the big parts on the right (passenger) side of the trans off, no probelm.  Cannot figure out how the wire that goes int the rear on the drivers side comes out.  Looking at the new one, it looks like a simple counter-clockwise twist and pull, but although I can twist it easily enough, I cannot pull it out...

What am I missing?
