DeLorean owners already lie at parts houses even if our cars are stock. We
tell them we have anything but a DeLorean, because there's no DeLorean in
their computer system. We tell them we're looking for a cap and rotor for a
1983 Volvo 760 GLE, or a blower motor for a 1980 Chevy Monza, or an output
shaft seal for a 2000 VW Cabrio, or frant brake pads for a 1973 Mercury
Capri, or an a/c clutch bearing for a 1981 AMC Eagle... and so on and so
on. There used to be a quite lengthy crossover reference list floating
around the Internet somewhere, for those of us who got "stuck" at (or
chose) a local parts house. Not sure if it's still in date, but it was a
nice thing to have in the car on long trips.
