That's the beauty of it! Even if you have a remote lock installed, as I do, and hit the lock button before your passenger closes to door, the jam caused by closing a locked door is prevented. No passenger ever expects they can't close a car door unless they're sure it's unlocked, and owners, especially if not used to carrying passengers, easily forget that risk.
