The four- and five-gas analyzers are very expensive. Other, less-complex
ones will cost less. This one, for example, only checks carbon monoxide.

And this one plugs into the oxygen sensor, does not have its own power
supply, and gives an AFR reading only.

These are obviously nowhere close to the kind of machines a real automotive
shop or emissions testing station would have, but they might be good enough
for "backyard" use.
