Last year I made a DeLorean harness to Ford Duraspark adapter for an owner whose ignition module had died (they *DO* die -- there's nothing magical that makes the ignition ECU any different from the idle, Lambda, or lock ECU's, or any other 30 year old ECU for that matter): http://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/535571_357107577667832_100001057778755_1063412_1074111345_n.jpg http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-snc7/428854_357107321001191_100001057778755_1063406_1732590853_n.jpg I just used his dead ECU to make an adapter of my own: http://a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/532240_357107371001186_100001057778755_1063407_1693325183_n.jpg http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn1/554612_357107431001180_100001057778755_1063408_1945175271_n.jpg "Installed" in the car (it's just laying loose in the ECU compartment for now): http://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/526875_357107481001175_100001057778755_1063409_36714872_n.jpg How does a DeLorean run on Ford ignition? indistinguishably for a Bosch ECU. They are basically the same thing, except that Duraspark modules are stock items at any Autozone/Adavance/Pep Boys/O'Reilly's/NAPA, etc. They also only cost $27 with a lifetime warranty. Makes sense to carry an adapter in the car even if you don't carry the ECU itself. Duraspark wiring diagram: http://a7.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/539097_357107204334536_100001057778755_1063404_1558359756_n.jpg Loose wire for the starter switch probably changes dwell while cranking. I find the car starts just fine without it.
