I never said that. In fact I said the opposite: the windshield supports the roof, not only in a rollover, but in day to day driving as well. Conventional wisdom is that the roof is not strong enough to hold the doors up without a windshield in place. There's a jig to support the roof that supposedly you must use during windshield replacement. As much as I hate to say it, search DMCTalk and you will find several "guru's" arguing for this jig. My glass shop accomplished the same thing by simply closing the doors and letting them hold the roof up while the adhesive dried -- a technique recommended to me by none other than Dave Swingle.
