This is all WAY OT for this list, but the truth is that it is easy to complain about gasoline prices because it feels more expensive. The added slap in the face for record profits by the oil companies helps it along. It is hard to let the financial facts of fuel costs get in the way of the emotional response to seeing an industry have tons of money to waste, sending lots of it to our law makers in the form of "lobbying", then watching the price at the pump jump 10 cents a week per gallon. Then, turning it in to a political issue during a presidential election year. The primary reason fuel prices are as high as they are now is due to lack of competition. We only have the government (and therefore, ourselves) to blame for it. If we had more competition, profits would not be so high. ------------------------------------ To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address: moderators@xxxxxxxxxxx For more info on the list, tech articles, cars for sale see www.dmcnews.com To search the archives or view files, log in at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcnewsYahoo!
