I agree it is most likely the sensor but the one on the LEFT side. It leaks, hits the "rail" and runs all around looking like the pan gasket is leaking. First stop would be to check the sensor for the oil light on the rear, left side.
The other common leak is the flywheel pulley but that is pretty obvious. Make sure the motor is not overfilled. When checked cold on level ground the oil level should be between the full and low marks, ideally right in the middle.
