An interesting link, but not one written in the language of engineering.
Toughness, ductility, tensile strength, modulus of elasticity etc etc
etc - all play their part. It has been some time since I did my
materials course but when I was researching the source of my bolts, I
did raise a few eyebrows with the relatively low torque specified
(limited by the tube in the bush, not the bolt), and I was talking to
industrial suppliers, not automotives.
I'm sure Bill's bolts will do the job, but care should be taken when
talking simply about tensile strength, it's not the only measure for how
good the bolt will be. And we all KNOW the 10.9's are prone to reaching
their fatigue limit and bending/breaking.
