We have "raced" our stock automatic D with free flowing exhaust and Gail's 1957 1800 cc high compression Nash Metropolitan automatic.  

It is a tie until about 50 mph, where the D keeps going.

We also did a Dyno comparison of an automatic D and a Stick D and the 5 speed had about 5 HP more at 4500 rpm.
