Bill, it is not correct to say the buckets can't physically be flipped
upside down. But James wasn't saying that, was he? And why are you
responding to a DMCTalk post on the DML? You aren't banned you know....
if your password has stopped working, reset it!
Item #1, each bucket is actually profiled for the headlight that's meant
to go in it - primarily the one large rectangular recess in the corner
which is specific to each light. Turn it upside down and the only way to
*properly* fit the headlight is also upside down.
Item #2: :
EITHER where did you hook the springs to the brackets? Did it involve
modification of the bracket? Or did you simply deem it "unnecessary"?
OR If you switched the whole assembly from left to right and vice-versa,
how did you attach the tab that goes at the top that's now at the bottom?
I've never torn any paint getting at the mounting screws or adjusters.
The fascia is flexible, right?!
IMO this is yet another exampe of your fixing a problem that never
existed in the first place

You can't do anything about the side screws (they are still going to be on the side even when the buckets are upside down), but at least I don't have to tear my paint job up reaching into the top with a screwdriver. It's also a lot easier to get the screws started on the bottom.
