I have just provided marc with a copy of the June 16, 1981 Progress Report
from Legend Industries (that also came from the Zora Duntov archives) that
states the "first of four De Lorean vehicles was received 5/12/81".
DeLoreans #2 were expected July 1, 1981 and cars 3 & 4 by August 15, 1981.

Unfortunately, more questions than answers, especially with
the 500 series cars...even some that were on the Legend list.

For example...

Marc, what is the earliest dated memo or other document that
references VIN...502 at Legend? I am looking at time-lines.

January 21, 1981 was the Launch Date for the Production car
with VIN...500 (or 501?), yet the door VIN plate on VIN...502
clearly has an April 1981 "stamp" indicating its production.
Just trying to identify hand built with production line built.

I know many of the 500 series cars did not have door VIN plates
initially and some had them assigned at a later date.
