Pfft...it'll never happen. First, I have no idea where in my neighborhood, these people live. I never see them out and about. Second, they were obviously broke. It's not worth my energy to try and get blood from a stone. Lastly, it had been weeks in between when the kid jumped into my car, and when I tried to flip on the high beams. (I had no reason to use them in the intervening time) So no judge is going to rule on my side when I can't tie his activity to the failure of the switch. I will take this as an expensive, aggravating lesson and just string bungie nets across the doors or keep the car locked down. Or electrically charge the body panels. Or just stop showing it altogether. Whatever. --- In dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, gmfm1@... wrote: > > First, I hope that you filed a police report. > Second, I hope that you have the name and address of the family of the child that did this. If you didn't give permission for her to put the child in the car, she is responsible. Send her the bill for the part and find out what it would cost to have it professional replaced and send her that as well. If she doesn't pay, take her to small claims court to get the money or to one of the reality court shows. If your state doesn't hold the parents responsible for the actions of the child, sue the child. The judgement is good for 20 years I am told. People need to learn that there are consequences for their actions. > Lastly, put a rope across the latches with a sign hanging on it to keep out or buy the bungie cord nets and place them over the door opening when the doors are open to keep people out. They can still get their hands in, but can't sit in the car. > > Good luck, > Gary Masie > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: Richard > Date: Monday, November 22, 2010 11:41 am > Subject: Re: [DML] Turn signal switch- Do they exist or not? > To: dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > > > Thanks for the informative answers. > > > > I have NO problem buying the complete part, even though only the > > turn signal-hi/lo beam switch was broken.
