Thanks for all the advice. I store the car all winter from late october till about now (when salt and sand is cleaned up from the roads). I use a disconnect switch and a trickle charger now, but my 5 year old Die Hard Gold is not taking a charge very well, and it cranks a little slowly before it kicks over. I haven't used the charger before last year, so I think I killed that battery each winter season from lack of proper charging. In the nice weather, I will take it out a couple of times a week.
I did buy a MAXX78 Walmart battery to try it out, before I read the post responses (I was anxious to get it and happened to be shopping there, so I thought what the heck. If it lasts only a couple of years, I'll get better one then, However, I think it only has 770 CCA's. Will that be a problem? I thought I read an old post where someone said 650 CCA or over.
