You formulae is a little too simplistic. It can cost more than you estimate and you are not accounting for how long it may take, the cost to transport it to a repair station, any increases in the costs of the parts. Even though the motor runs, by your admission the motor needs a LOT of work. Even the transmission needs work. Probably a clutch, replace the roll pins, and the cylinders. Basically the car needs everything. Assuming the S/S panels are in good shape and the glass is OK the car is worth between $3-5K. You will have to replace most of the interior, tires, weatherstripping, all struts, rebuild the brake system, cooling system, Clutch system, Motor, and transmission. Like I said, EVERYTHING!
