I'm sure there are somewhat recent discussions on this subject but my search of the archives yielded only discussions circa 1996. I have been running for years on Dunlop Qualifier GT's (last 2 sets anyway). It's about time to buy new tires again, and I found out when trying to order that it appears they are no longer available in the required sizes. I usually order through Tire Rack. I can't find any sets of matching tires for the front and back on there. The only tire I have been able to find that is available in both sizes is the Cooper Cobra GT. I'm looking for opinions from people that have bought tires recently or looked into it as to what's available and what's best? I have also heard of people dropping a size in the rear to 225 to gain many more options of tire selection. From what I've heard, there is no noticeable effect. Anything on that? I welcome all comments and suggestions; feel free to reply offline.
