Roger- There are several in-depth articles about the door locks and their typical shortcomings in the Files section of the DMCTech website: http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/DMCTech One of them has a picture of the original Door Lock Module, so you can easily locate and disconnect it. One thing not at that site is a detailed how-to for adjusting the door lock linkage.? (Someday I'll finish that draft!) That info can be found in the original manuals, namely the Workshop Manual and the Service Bulletins, but both are slightly different and you need patience and time to follow them. All the major vendors sell reprints. Disconnecting the Door Lock Module is an easy preventative action. Short answer: Getting trapped in the car with a stuck door can be caused by improper door latch linkage adjustment, but the Door Lock Module is unnecessary and just makes it worse. There are several weak spots, but they all can be remedied.? Good luck!? :-) Wayne A.
