[DML] Re: DMA Fall Foliage Tour 2009 (update 9/9/09)

As promised, here is another update for the upcoming DMA Fall Foliage Tour 2009 on October 23-25, 2009 occurring throughout Lancaster County, PA.

For Friday, we are planning a casual evening for the Early Birds. Tentatively, we are thinking about dinner or evening snack at the local SONIC Drive-In. Those arriving early may choose to hang out with other members, go shopping at the local Rockvale Outlets, take one of the local Amish Buggy Rides, or go on a guided Ghost Tour.

Saturday will be the main event. The tentative driving tour on the back roads of the county encircles Lancaster City over approximately 60 miles. The route still needs to be given a thorough drive to make sure it is Delorean-Friendly, but regardless of the final route, plenty of Amish & Mennonite life will surely be seen along the way. An all-u-can-eat PA Dutch dinner is planned at the Good N' Plenty Restaurant. An evening Ghost Tour may again be arranged for those not attending Friday.

Hotels: Inquiries have been made with a unique hotel for a limited number of rooms. The uniqueness is that each "room" is actually retired train caboose. For those not able to book a caboose room or that wish for a more traditional hotel, a chain hotel is being arranged with group rates. Once confirmed, reservation information will be made available (likely in the next update in about a week).
