Hi Mike,

I know David T. can explain better than I how the system is designed and work.
However googling "CIS" will come up with lots of information on the design and operation of our car's Constant Injection System.

FWIW: I replaced my CPR=Constant Pressure Regulator (also called WUR=Warm-Up Regulator) with an electronically controlled on.
In this system the CPR has a stepper motor controlling the fuel pressure. The belonging electronics (hardware) comes in two versions.
One meant for replacing standard CPR (UTCIS-V), the other meant for replacing CPR on Turbo systems (UTCIS-PT). The latter however also may be used for non-Turbo cars and gives a better control over the range the system operates. It uses RPM and MAP input whereas the V-version uses none of these.
I have chosen the latter version for more accuracy.

Hunting effects may be caused by vacuum or air leaks, bad CPR, wrong mixture etc etc. A systems with proper setup and no leaks can however run without hunting.
On DMCTalk there's a thread on various reasons why a CPR may fail. So it might be a good idea to search that forum too.
