Its purpose is to seal up the open space where something (I think the evap lines, but I don't remember) enters the box, and to be a general pain in the ass. I mentioned how to tape it in my post below. If the foam is loose, put it back on. Duct tape is probably the easiest; trying to get glue back there could make a real mess. > > Reattaching that will also fix the 'warm air on the driver's feet during the summer' and 'cold air on the driver's feet during the winter' problem. > > Jake Kamphoefner > 1063 > > > > > > ____________ _________ _________ __ > From: Kevin Abato <delorean@.. .> > To: DML <dmcnews@yahoogroups .com> > Sent: Tuesday, May 26, 2009 9:40:51 AM > Subject: [DML] AC blower fan strength/velocity > > > > > > I know we had a discussion about a week ago about the velocity of air from the AC/Vent fan and I wanted to add something interesting > > Since I got my car in 2001 I have always felt the velocity of the air was very weak. Even on speed 4. Often my fan would cut out if it was too hot. I replaced the fan in 2004 with a Hervey unit to fix a noise issue. The fan still did not blow any stronger, but was much more silent than the original. > > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] > .
