This confuses me.  I can see how you could electrically modify the
opposite door not to lock, but the local door locks mechanically.  Short
of disabling mechanical locking and unlocking and going pure electrical
- it sounds pretty tough.

How did you modify the door locks or door switches to prevent 
accidentally locking while the doors are open? Sounds like something 
DeLoreans should have had from the factory.
