Why do you say "The A/C has plenty of charge in it"? Your symptoms sound like you are a little low on refrigerent. To test this theory just jumper out the low pressure switch to see if the A/C compressor will run when it's cold. It is also possible the low pressure switch is bad or just out-of-adjustment. Changing the low pressure switch can be done without dumping the system. There is a Shrader valve under it in the accumulator. If you are fixing a leak in the system then why do you say it has plenty of gas? When you do fix the leak you should at least check the level of oil in the compressor. Best to remove as much as you can and put the correct amount of fresh oil in. When it is cool or cold, the A/C won't turn on, the compressor won't even engage. Sometimes in cool weather (60's-ish) the A/C will come on for a second or 2 and then shut right off. The a/c has plenty of charge in it, I'm just wondering which electrical part or A/C component will fix this once replaced. I need to discharge the system soon anyway in order to change an O-ring on the condenser lower fitting, so I'd like to fix whatever else is causing this issue at the same time.
