I have a similar problem, but my passenger door is closed n locked, I can't unlock the door, how do I get this door to open? Can I get access with door closed?

Probably the guide of the front lock rod that came off of the door's 
inner side. Happens often. Take of the upper door panel and look for a 
plastic clip (guide) about at the grab handle's position. You may also 
have to take the lower door panel off to have a clear view.
