Does the motor turn over rapidly as normal and keep on turning over rapidly for a while? Do you do this several times then wait?
Or does it turn over OK and then slow down till it almost stops, or turn over very slowly?

I think all of us are unclear about whether you are saying the motor
is turning over (via the starter) or not.
When you say it "tries to start", what do you mean? You hear just a
clicking noise, or do you actually hear it turning the motor?
