I'll assume from your post that you are able to get into the car from the passenger side since you are able to work the inside door lock. It does sound like a linkage problem, but not something that is disconnected, but "binding" when you try to operate the lock.
Before you tear into the door, have an assistant rap on the outside of the door, (sides, bottom, and on top of key hole) with the side of their closed fist. This will prevent any dings in your stainless. While they are doing that, you should try to operate the inside lock at the same time. This may jiggle loose the binding parts. If this works, once you have the door open, take the inner panel off and figure out what was binding. If this is not successful, then you will have to attempt to remove the inner panel with the door closed, very difficult, but doable if you are really careful.
One last note, don't try to force the lock from the outside with your key. Your lock cylinder sounds like it is fine and all you will accomplish is either bending/breaking your key or ruining the cylinder itself which is just a 'pot metal'.

I closed my door today, locked it with the key no problem. Tried to get
back in with the key, and the key wouldn't turn. The lock is jammed. My
power locks are disconnected. The interior door lock button goes
into 'lock' position but won't unlock. It will go about half way and
then stop. I can't open the driver door. It's stuck shut and the lock
won't release. I thought maybe the door closed crooked or something but
it looks just fine.
How can I get the locking devise to open?
