I would try jiggling the key and lubricating the lock. The key and/or the lock may be worn so it is just the cylinder that won't turn, not the linkage. If possible, try a different key. Make sure the door is closed all the way. It is possible one of the latches is not in the second locking position and the door should not have been able to lock but being out-of-adjustment now it is locked but will not unlock. Worst case you will have to remove the interior trim and try to unlock both latches by pulling directly on the linkage.
