The accumulator does not have a bypass. That extra hose is to return
fuel if the rubber diaphragm leaks or is ruptured.
Your dealing with a very small volume of air in your test. You will
need to use pipe sealer or Teflon tape on your connections to get
reliable results. If these are done you should get days, weeks or
longer before you see any drop in pressure.
