It's also way harder than the door lock alignment that most owners struggle  
with, since parts (shims) are likely either missing or out of alignment,  your 
old door seal won't hold it "up" in position, and the striker pins were  
obviously out of proper position. (They may have been technically where they  
should have been originally, but not matching the misaligned door, and likely  
hammered off position even if the door now becomes correctly aligned.) A lot of  
variables in play, here.
