My only comment is that you're lucky you still have the catalytic 
converter on it, otherwise you and your family may well have suffered 
far worse than the car!

I wouldn't worry about it - the car behaved exactly as it would have if 
you were stuck in the father and mother of all traffic jams. On a hot day.
