There is a slight difference here. The DMA uses membership funds to subsidize the cost of these events, and buy liability insurance to "cover the asses" of the officers in case something happens and the club is sued. The event is for members only to make it "fair" and give a perk. The DOA event (which I commented about) was a general car show that is not being run by the DOA directly. If the DOA was hosting an event specifically for DOA members only, I would have not commented as I did. BTW: for what the DMA offers for $15 a year, it's pretty damn cheap for an owner to join, and the perks are outstanding!
