For those who don't know, back when Firestone had to recall all their tires off the Ford Explorers, Cooper was one of the replacement brands chosen. As it turned out, there were manufacturing defects from two of their worldwide plants in Texarkana, and Tupelo, MS. In order to meet bonus, managers at these two plants would use expired rubber and other ingredients, along with managers approving known defective tires as OK to be shipped out. In the end, the tires got recalled, and I believe those managers got fired. Every tire manufacturer, and I do mean everyone of them, including Pirelli LESS THAN 2 MONTHS AGO themselves even had a recall for tires involving chunking and tread separation. http://tiny.cc/awei8 Cooper in the mean time is still used on Formula & Champ Car racing, as well as Drifting competitions. If people investing money in these teams, and their drivers who are risking their lives and everyone elses' livelihoods by driving at sustained speeds over over 100mph are doing it on Coopers, then that tells me that even the professionals have grown to trust them. So they must know something about Cooper making a decent tire. -Robert vin 6585 "X" ------------------------------------ To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address: moderators@xxxxxxxxxxx For more info on the list, tech articles, cars for sale see www.dmcnews.com To search the archives or view files, log in at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcnewsYahoo!
