Vin #1458 (my old car), now with 23,000 miles is still running an
original accumulator. Driven regularly as a second car, it was laid up
for 16 years with 2350 miles on it. I resurrected it in 2001. It
maintains rest pressure without issue
.
Being -my- car, I'd be happy to just keep going until it failed, and
replace. I have had a NOS accumulator fail catastrophically (the fuel
pump could not maintain pressure) after only a few hundred miles.
Both these cases are rare though!
