I was asked to "de-cat" one car, and discovered that the cat had indeed
been gutted in the past. I went ahead and fitted a stainless bypass and
the owner immediately reported improved fuel economy. As someone who did
lots of motorway miles, I doubt this was just a placebo effect :-)
