I have a pressure test kit, so I can use that to increase the pressure
in the system and loosen the radiator bleeder hose to bleed out the
air, as per posts by Dave Teitelbaum and others. I only found that tip
recently; previously, I simply disconnected the bleeder hose. I have
had cases where it sputtered air out, but in the most recent case
there was just coolant and no air.

Sure; I built some wooden ramps that make it easy to raise the back of
the car just by driving up onto them. This would be for bleeding at
the water pump, I presume? Isn't the temp sensor (otterstat) on the
left (drivers) side of the engine, though? Or is there another temp
sensor I should be looking for?

I had PJ Grady's heat exchangers installed last fall, but that hasn't
seemed to affected the engine temperature on hot days so far.

Thanks!
