[DML] AC servicing by local garages

I need to have my R134a recharged in my car each year. I have had it
done in the past by a couple of different local garages. They check
for leaks (I never have the leaks, but wondering if my refrigerant
loss is through leeching through the old hoses each year????). When I
bring a car in for this, do most garages that provide AC service
follow a standard routine, or do I need to give specific guidance such
as "pull a vacuum on the system for such and such a time to evacuate
any air out of it, then check for this pressure or that pressure,
etc..."? I don't have equipment to refill myself, and don't quite
understand the nuances with the AC system. If I make an appointment
for the recharge, and tell them that approximately 2.0 lbs of R134a
needs to be filled, will they automatically pull a vacuum, test
pressures, temperatures, etc?
Thanks,
Paul
