[DML] DOA

I have read with great interest all the messages about the Delorean 
Owners Assc. I am one of the longest owners of a Delorean on this 
list. I have owned #3513 since Feb of '82. In the early days we still 
had dealers and than they faded when the company failed. There was 
not a lots of places to get Delorean information in those days. I 
joined the DOA and they put out a small magazine called the gull 
wing. I still have all the copies of these early magazines, it was 
not really a magazine as we now have but 6 to 8 pages printed in 
black and white with very few pictures, however for the early owners 
it was about all we had. They gave great information on how to fix 
all the bugs that our cars had, and I have kept up my membership all 
these years. I know that some people on this list have hard feeling 
towards the DOA but for us old timers they were a bright light and 
provided much needed help. Yes now we have much better groups and 
slicker magazines but thanks to people like the DOA, Grady's, 
Delorean one, and people like Don Steger, Stephen Wynn our automobile 
is still on the road. I try to support all of our vendors and the 
groups, I have to give a great big thank you to the DOA for the work 
they have done in helping keep our cars on the map. This is my two 
cents and yes I agree we all may need to keep those two cents to buy 
gas.
