[DML] Torotrak Infinitely Variable Transmission

I recently started looking at continuously variable transmissions.
Has anyone heard of the "Infinitely Variable Transmission"
manufactured by Torotrak? They claim to have one for rear-wheel-drive
vehicles in the testing phase. (Reference:
http://www.torotrak.com/automotive/cars/RWD+cars.htm) Looks like it
would be interesting for DeLorean engine swap application -- if one is
putting in a more powerful engine (presumably why you'd swap
transmissions in the first place), since"there is no torque
limitation."
I think of the person on here who mentioned recently of upgrading a
DeLorean powertrain with money being no object. A continuous or
infinitely variable transmission might be fairly cool, although it
would rob you of the "control" given by a manual transmission and the
"sound of power" of a revving engine... ;-)
