Yes, Farrar, I've been there too. - Tap out the pin that holds the latch in place. - Unwind the spring of the latch a little so it has more force. - Use two (thing) rings (one on each side of the latch) so it wont slide sideways. - Assemble the latch, spring and pin into the louvre. - See to it that the latch can get a good (full) grip on the striker bar (too far towards the rear and it wont get a grip, too far towards the front and 'the striker bar is out of reach. - Assure the striker bar is not too low or too high otherwise either no grip or rattling. - There is a lot of space for the latch on the striker bar; you may want to get a tighter grip using some plastic around the bar. Also helps to diminish rattling. That hasn't worked, either. > Besides which, the clasp seems not to want to grip it tightly enough anyway. > > Any suggestions? > > Farrar Hudkins > #2613 (auto) > ------------------------------------ To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address: moderators@xxxxxxxxxxx For more info on the list, tech articles, cars for sale see www.dmcnews.com To search the archives or view files, log in at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcnewsYahoo!
