[DML] Re: UPDATE TO THE UPDATE OF A COUPLE STRANGE QUESTIONS

Hey Mike,
I'm sorry to jump in this late, but I thought the RPM-relay
is one of the first things you checked when playing with that 
circuit ?!?!
Those are known to fail but simple to repair.
mounting it upside down or not - I don't think this makes 
a big difference, I would guess more  that the force the 
parts see when the relay is turned on is the reason for it.
and of course vibrations, heat and so on. Whatever you 
think helps - do it, I learned a lot from your mails, 
why not in this case, too ? :-)

usually those parts have no defined mounting direction,
it's not like hanging a space shuttle on a strange tube 
filled with explosive stuff :-)
