Andy is right. Mileage on a DeLorean means almost nothing. If you want to drive the car, I would trust a car with 100K on it long before I'd hop in a car with 5K. Mileage will affect the sale price of the car, but only because most DeLorean buyers don't know any better. Your worry should be *everything* else. Plan on spending thousands as soon as you get the car, and don't depend on it as daily transportation. You could do yourself a huge favor by taking a local DeLorean expert with you to inspect the car, and reading everything you can about the car, starting with www.dmcnews.com. There is no such thing as a cheap DeLorean. It's 27 years old and lots of things will break, unless the previous owner has already taken care of the problem areas. You are right. There are not many DeLoreans out there that have not had a broken angle drive, dust cap, or whatever in its lifetime. The mileage of any DeLorean should always be suspect, and you can only be sure of the general mileage based on documented services, inspections, insurance queries, etc. And even then, how do you know someone didn't drive it 1000 miles in one week? How many owners are going to Gettysburg with non-functioning odometers? Based on people planning trips with leaking cooling systems (no offense to Farrar), I would bet plenty. Fact is, mileage isn't so much a concern as maintenance and driveability is. A new owner would be better off worrying about whether the antifreeze and brake fluids have been changed regularly, the car driven a couple thousand miles a year, etc. Andy --- In dmcnews@yahoogroups .com, "Matthew" <matthewilw@ ...> wrote: > > I'm in the process of possibly buying a D. and after reading some of > the responses about towing a Delorean I have a question.
