Agreed. Changing the oil is one of the easiest undercar tasks - not much harder than unbolting the seats. You barely have to get under the car, and then you could probably do it without jacking the car if you really had to. Save the $ on the pump and instead get the proper tool for the drain plug, and an oil filter wrench that fits well, and save the difference. You might even have enough left over to buy a couple of jackstands - sooner or later you will have to get further under the D. The "best" way is to drain the oil from a hot motor, the flushing action removes the sludge and dirt and metal that collects on the bottom while most of the dirt is still in suspension in the old oil. The vacuum units give you the impression you don't even have to get under the car to change the oil. They seem to forget you still have to change the oil filter! Besides, when you are under the car you get a chance to inspect things that normally can't be seen.
