I'm like Mark V , there are times for the pump, but sludge settles on the
bottom of the pan so I like to change the oil when it's hot and the bulk of
all the contaminates will come out. Be sure if the car if the car has been
lowered on the front that the front is jacked up a little so there is a tilt
back If you really want to remove varnish or anything else that may need
cleaning out of any engine I use Resilone. Good stuff.

I don't understand why you would want to flush the oil out in that
fashion you "STILL" have to crawl under the car to remove the oil
filter.
The only reason I could see is if the drain bolt/threads are so
screwed up that you do not want to attempt to remove the drain bolt.
