While not quite as inexpensive as the modification described by
Elvis, the digital door lock module does eliminate all battery drain
that is caused by the stock door lock module. And the digital module
is "plug and play" and can be installed by anybody who can find their
way into the relay compartment. Both DMCH and DPNW had these for
quite a while, and they are about to become available again from all
locations in the DMC service network. The new version is packaged
slightly differently, but retains all of the advantages that the
originals had. They interface seamlessly with all Wings-A-Loft
systems, including the door lock actuators (that replace the
solenoids).
PS - Thank you to Elvis for being such an enthusiastic member of the
DeLorean community. I look forward to buying you a cool beverage at
Gettysburg!
