I "rented" my D out a couple times.  The first time was for a wedding.  All they needed was for me to drive the groom to the church so that they could film him getting out of the car.  I did not charge them anything since they let me stay for the reception (which was open bar, so I was happy), and it was really close to where I live, so gas was not much of an issue to me.  I also didn't have to worry about anyone else driving, so there really was not much of a liability issue.
 
The second time, a company was having an 80's themed golf outing and wanted it parked outside the clubhouse entrance by their registration table for a couple hours.  It was a static display, so once again, not really any liability issues.  Also, another open bar... :)  They paid me $200 just to come hang out and drink for a while.  Good times.
