Bill, The fuel on the cold start comes from the lower chamber of the FD and
is under pressure at all times. Then when it's called on to release fuel it
sprays just like an injector because it's under pressure.

Nope: It uses engine vacuum.

The cold start valve works basically the same way carburetor venturi
work.
