[DML] RE: Starting Problem

Glenn,

Start by making sure your gas tank is full. What you
are describing is exactly the way a DeLorean behaves
when running low on fuel.

So I let my car sit for 3 weeks and my reward is a
dead battery. I was able to jump the battery and get
the car started, but the engine is severely
stumbling/sputtering. It sounds like it's not firing
correctly. It takes about 20 seconds of cranking to
start, then blows a blueish smoke (for 5 mins or so).
It also won't idle on it's own. If I stop giving it
gas, it stalls. The battery was a few years old, so I
replaced it. The car fires right up with the new
battery, but it's still running as described above.

In November PJ Grady did extensive work on my car (new
lines, injector hoses, fuel filter, a couple new
injectors & some cleaned, new fuel distributor, new
plugs...etc, etc, etc). The car was running fantastic.
I mention this because it was starting and running
great before I let it sit. I can't imagine anything
needs
replacing. I'm guessing I flooded the system with gas
trying to start it excessively. If I'm correct, how do
I go about solutioning this?

Thanks,
Glenn
