Yes, you could call him.  But be prepared for questions such 
as:  "why do you want it?" . . ."why didn't you buy it when it 
originally was offered for sale 18 years ago?" . . . "did you 
already have one? If so, what happened to to it?  did you not take 
proper care of it?" . . . "have you bought from us before?  Have you 
even THOUGHT about buying a part from another vendor?" . . ."Did the 
previous owner buy any part from another vendor?" . . . "If you buy 
this poster, will you put it in a gold frame, out of the sunlight, 
prominently displayed?".
