Group, Just another boring upgrade on an engine part. I now have double lip rear main seals. Meaning that instead of one lip of rubber rubbing on the end of the crank shaft to keep oil from leaking into the clutch housing and onto the floor it now has 2. Normally this seal is replaced when the clutch is replaced because the rubber will wear out and a small impression is worn in the crank shaft. If you replace the seal and same lip will ride in the same place on the shaft and the leak will occur a little faster the second time. With the 2nd lip it's now almost impossible to ever leak again. The 2nd lip is naturally positioned on part of the crank shaft end that has not had a lip riding on the shaft and acts like the first defense in oil getting to the second seal to get out. Up grade with a clutch kit is $10.00 or $14.95 by it's self. http://www.specialtauto.com/delorean-parts/clutch-transmission.html John Hervey www.deloreanautoparts.com www.specialtauto.com To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address: moderators@xxxxxxxxxxx For more info on the list, tech articles, cars for sale see www.dmcnews.com To search the archives or view files, log in at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcnews Yahoo!
