The more typical problem is that the screw mounts crack meaning that the two
halves end up not been fastened together as good as they should. Visually
mine looks okay but it used to creak every time I turned the wheel. I fixed
this by making a black foam/rubber gasket between the two halves which has
made it silent. I still have it sitting wonky at times purely because of
the cracked screw mounts not keeping the thing mounted properly in place. I
guess a previous owner tightened the original screws a little too much?
If DMCH are reading this surely they?ll need some of these to be made for
restoration/new cars as their ?good supply kept just for special cars? is
finite!

Chris Hawes
